Sustainability

At Tihani, sustainability is a conscious choice. We aim to do things properly, simply and consistently. Every decision is made to reduce our impact, from the choice of materials to production and the way your swimwear is shipped.

Producing less, producing better and working with responsible partners guides everything we do.

Responsible production

Our swimwear is made in Portugal, in a small local workshop with fewer than 10 persons, bringing together professionals with over 20 years of experience in swimwear manufacturing. We chose a human-scale production model, focused on craftsmanship, quality and fair working conditions.

Producing in Europe allows us to ensure clear traceability and maintain close control over every stage of manufacturing. This proximity to our workshop is essential to us. It allows us to oversee the production process and build long-term, trusted relationships with our partners.

Sustainable materials

Our swimwear is made from Carvico Vita PL, a high-quality technical fabric developed and produced in Italy. Made from 100% regenerated polyester sourced from pre- and post-consumer waste, it helps reduce the use of virgin materials while ensuring durability and performance.

Designed for water sports, Carvico Vita PL offers excellent resistance to chlorine, sunscreens and oils, strong colour retention and long-lasting wear, even with frequent use. It allows us to create swimwear that is high-performing, resilient and made to last.

Responsible shipping and limited quantities

Our shipping process is designed to minimise environmental impact. Orders are sent in durable corrugated cardboard boxes, made in Europe from recycled materials, responsibly sourced and fully recyclable.

The swimwear is wrapped in tissue paper, and we do not use plastic for packaging or shipping. We prioritise simple, durable solutions to reduce waste and the footprint associated with transportation.

We produce in limited quantities and small batches. This approach helps prevent overproduction, reduce waste and ensure that only what is needed is made. Working in small quantities also allows us to pay close attention to quality, details and finishing.

Producing less also means having a more conscious approach to consumption.

A conscious and short supply chain

We have deliberately built a short and coherent supply chain. The fabric is produced in Italy, the swimwear is made in Portugal and transportation is carried out by road. This organisation helps reduce travel distances, limit transport-related emissions and maintain overall control of our environmental impact.

Every step has been carefully considered to be as responsible and consistent as possible, without unnecessary intermediaries.

transparency

Transparency is essential to our approach. We believe it is important for you to know where and how your swimwear is made, which materials are used and the values behind each choice. At Tihani, every decision is considered and taken responsibly, because we believe trust is at the core of a truly sustainable brand.
